The opening of the sanatorium Meshakhte in Tskhaltubo was postponed for about a year. Zviad Zviadadze, the head of the project investor company KBP Tbilisi, told "Commersant". According to him, the postponement of the 5-star hotel opening is due to the changes  to  the project.

Under  the new project, the hotel will have 150 rooms instead of 100. The amount of investment of $ 40-45 million will grow  as well. Construction works will be completed by 2019 instead of 2018. Zviadadze notes  that at this stage the designing  phase is going on, after which a volume of investment and the international brand to  operate the hotel will be specified.

As is known, 4 international brands are considered, one of which is Hilton.

Zviadadze does not specify the reason for the change in the project.

KBP  Tbilisi purchased the  sanatorium Meshakhte in 2015 via direct sale for $ 2.5 mln.

Under  the terms of contract, a five-star hotel of international brand with  no less than 100 rooms  should  be placed in the sanatorium located in Rustaveli str. №13 in Tskaltubo.

The government took some obligation before the investor. Namely, the government is obliged to provide the gas pipeline for which the money will be spent from the budget of the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia.
