It is very sad and regrettable when we hear such statements about a former teammate. I have known Irakli for a very long time, we have been together since 2012, he was our comrade, it breaks my heart, - this is how Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze assessed the fact of the Prosecutor's Office indicting former Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Gharibashvili.

In addition, when asked whether he himself learned from the briefing what the former Prime Minister had been doing for years, Kaladze noted that he learned from the briefing and had not asked any questions about Gharibashvili until now.

"It is very sad and regrettable when we hear statements of this type regarding a former teammate. I have known Irakli for a very long time, we have been together since 2012, he was our comrade, it breaks my heart, let's wait for the investigation for the rest. Today you know that he left the party, he has left political activities, he personally made a statement in this regard at the party office several months ago. The aforementioned fact, which we have been hearing in recent days, is sad, regrettable, I cannot say anything more, let's wait for the relevant agencies and the investigation.

As for the questions, we did not have any, because as for the cars, they were state property, the Prime Minister used to travel by them, as for the flight [of his son to the USA by charter], he made explanations in this regard and today this is not interesting. Let's wait for the answers, let's wait for how the investigation will proceed, how it will end and then draw conclusions, it is not right and not nice to talk in advance," Kaladze said.

For information, Irakli Gharibashvili was charged under Article 194, Part 3, Subparagraph “c” of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which refers to the legalization of illegal income, which was accompanied by the receipt of a particularly large amount of income.
