The Government of Georgia has decided to liquidate the International Center for Education.

The Decree of the Government of Georgia "On the Liquidation of the Legal Entity of Public Law - the International Center for Education" is dated October 21 in the Legislative Gazette.

“In accordance with Article 17 of the Law of Georgia "On Legal Entities of Public Law", the legal entity of public law - the International Center for Education (hereinafter - the Center), operating within the sphere of governance of the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia (hereinafter - the Ministry), shall be liquidated.

In accordance with Article 25 of the Organic Law of Georgia "On Normative Acts", the Res Decree olution of the Government of Georgia "On the Establishment of the Legal Entity of Public Law - the International Center for Education" of April 24, 2015 No. 183 shall be declared invalid.

The Ministry shall be determined as the successor to the liquidated Center.

All documentation remaining as a result of the liquidation of the Center shall be transferred to the Ministry, based on the acceptance and delivery act," reads the document.

According to the decree, the Ministry is obliged to:

"In order to organizationally ensure the liquidation measures of the Center, establish a liquidation commission, which, by December 31, 2025, will ensure:

Complete inventory of the property and receivables and payables recorded on the balance sheet of the Center and drawing up a liquidation balance sheet;

Processing, systematization and archiving (if necessary, destruction) of the documentation (material) available at the Center, in accordance with the procedure established by law;

Implementation of other measures established by law related to the liquidation of the Center;

Ensure the use of appropriations allocated to it from the state budget to perform the functions assigned to it by this decree;

Take appropriate measures to develop and issue/adopt relevant draft legal acts," reads the document.

Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze signed the decree.
