The volume of loans issued by commercial banks (excluding interbank loans) in January 2026 decreased by 531,81 milion GEL or by 0,75% compared to the previous month (exchange rate effect excluded, decreased by 0,86%) and constituted 70,40 billion GEL by the end of January 2026. The YoY growth rate of loans, excluding exchange rate effect, was 13,35%. The volume of loans in national currency decreased by 331,60 milion GEL (0,81%) and the volume of loans in foreign currency decreased by 200,21 milion GEL or by 0,67% in the same period (exchange rate effect excluded, decreased by 0,93%).

By the end of January 2026, the total volume of national currency denominated loans to resident legal entities issued by commercial banks amounted to 10,68 billion GEL (4,38% less compared to the previous month), and foreign currency denominated loans constituted 20,23 billion GEL (0,74% less; exchange rate effect excluded volume of lending in foreign currency decreased by 0,98 %).

During January 2026, the volume of lending to resident household sector increased by 0,47% or 173,73 milion GEL, and constituted 36,82 billion GEL by the end of January 2026.

Larization ratio for total loans constituted 57,56% by the end of January 2026 and decreased by 0,036 percentage point (exchange rate effect excluded, increased by 0,03 percentage point), compared to the end of December 2025.
