According to data from the State Insurance Supervision Service, in the first quarter of 2026, insurance premiums collected by insurance companies from direct insurance activities amounted to 521 million GEL.
In the same period, the insurers' underwriting profit stood at 94 million GEL, net profit was 31 million GEL. The total assets of insurance companies amount to 1,802 million GEL, their capital totaled 528 million GEL.

In the first quarter of this year, the top performers in terms of insurance premium volume were Imedi L, TBC Insurance, GPI.

The largest volume of insurance premiums was in health insurance, which amounted to 303 million GEL in the first quarter of 2026 that is almost 22% more than in the same period last year. Auto insurance occupies the second position, with a volume of 93.5 million GEL that is 9.5% more than last year. Life insurance is in third place, with its volume growing by nearly 26% year-on-year to 40.7 million GEL.

The total incurred losses paid out under insurance policies for the first three months of 2025 amounted to 177 million GE
L against 200 million GEL in the same period of 2026.

In the first
three months of 2026, GPI reported the highest losses (36 million GEL), followed by TBC (31 million GEL); Aldagi was third with a loss of 25 million GEL.
