Imedi L has overtaken GPI in collected insurance premiums, topping the rankings, as per  the data for the first quarter of 2026.

The Insurance Supervision Service's figures show that direct insurance premiums for the first three months of 2026 amounted to 521 million GEL, compared to 453 million GEL in the first three months of 2025.

Imedi L generated 124 million in insurance premiums in the first quarter, compared to 60 million for the same period of last year. TBC is second with 82 million, GPI is third with 70 million.
According to data from the State Insurance Supervision Service, in the first quarter of 2026, insurance premiums collected by insurance companies from direct insurance activities amounted to 521 million GEL.

In the same period, the insurers' underwriting profit stood at 94 million GEL, net profit was 31 million GEL. The total assets of insurance companies amount to 1,802 million GEL, their capital totaled 528 million GEL.


As of March 31, 2026, there were 19 insurance companies licensed to offer life and non-life insurance in Georgia.
