The meeting between Rustem Umierov, Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council and the head of the Ukrainian delegation, and US President Donald Trump's negotiators, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, is scheduled for 4 December in Miami, Florida.

Associated Press, citing a senior official in Trump's administration; Olha Stefanishyna, Ukraine's Ambassador to the United States, as reported by public broadcaster Suspilne.

According to the Associated Press source, the parties intend to continue discussing the details of the "peace plan" aimed at ending the war in Ukraine. The official did not provide further details of the agenda, citing a lack of authority to comment publicly on the matter.

Stefanishyna confirmed the planned meeting between Umierov and Witkoff.

"Rustem Umierov, the head of the delegation whose only job is to negotiate with American and European allies, will land in the United States tomorrow [4 November] to have another meeting with the delegation."

Stefanishyna said that Ukraine is expecting a follow-up meeting based on the results of Witkoff and Kushner's visit to Moscow. She noted that there is "not too much progress" at this stage of the talks, but the process is ongoing.

Stefanishyna also emphasised the continued bipartisan support for Ukraine in the US Congress. She believes American lawmakers may soon consider bills to designate Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism and to introduce secondary sanctions against countries that continue to buy Russian energy resources.
