For the first 9 months of 2025, insurance companies earned nearly GEL 1.1 billion in revenue, according to the State Insurance Supervision Service.

Compared to the same period last year, insurance companies increased their revenues by 11.6%. Despite the revenue growth, the companies' profits have declined this year.

In nine months direct insurance premiums totaled 1,098 million GEL. Insurers reported an underwriting profit of 272 million GEL and a net profit of 113 million GEL for the same period.

However, net profit was down 2 million GEL compared to the first nine months of 2024.

The total assets of insurance companies constitute 1,696 million GEL, and their capital is 517 million GEL. The asset volume sees an annual increase of nearly 11%.

According to the report, as of September 30, 2025, 19 insurance companies are registered and hold licenses for both life and property insurance operations.
