Roskomnadzor has blocked access to the popular Roblox game in Russia. This was reported on December 3 in the press service of the RCN.
It clarifies that the reason for the restriction of access was the posting on the platform of materials justifying and propagandizing extremist and terrorist activities. In addition, the game featured calls for violent illegal actions and materials promoting the LGBT movement (recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).
On the same day, it became known about a large-scale malfunction of the Roblox platform in Russia. According to user reports, the platform stopped opening and loading in the morning. Many people note that they cannot log in to their accounts, and the games either do not start or give connection errors.
On November 29, Roskomnadzor (RCN) announced that since 2019, it has repeatedly sent notifications to the Roblox platform demanding that access to prohibited materials be restricted. According to the decisions of the authorized bodies, since 2019, in accordance with Articles 15.1 and 15.3 of 149-FZ, the agency has sent notifications to the Roblox administration, demanding that access to prohibited materials be restricted.
