The first plant for the production of railway equipment in Azerbaijan is to open this May.
ABC.AZ reports, quoting Nazrin Ibadova, the head of the Supply Department at Rail Trans Service LLC.
According to Ibadova, production will begin immediately after the opening of the plant built in the Aghdam Industrial Park:
"Initially, the products will be used to meet domestic demand. The potential buyer of company's products in Azerbaijan is Azerbaijan Railways CJSC. And after a while, the products will be exported to the CIS countries."
Ibadova said that in early May 3 buildings of the plant will open – an assembly, production and dormitory:
"The investment cost of the project is 5.7 million manats. The plant envisages creation of 43 permanent jobs. This number can be increased after the start of production."
Rail Trans Service LLC is registered as a resident of the Aghdam Industrial Park, which is under the jurisdiction of the Economic Zones Development Agency. Rail Trans Service has so far imported railway equipment from Russia and sold it throughout the country. And after the plant is operational, there will be no need for imports.
