In Georgia, a number of changes are planned that will take effect from today, August 1.
Starting August 1st, Tbilisi is introducing zonal-hourly parking on several new streets across different districts. These include the Mtatsminda district, Vazisubani and Bagebi settlements, a portion of Didi Digomi, and Beri Gabriel Salosi Avenue. Registration for local residents to access free parking under this system began on July 1.
A total of 1,340 zonal-hourly parking spaces have been allocated in the specified areas, including 14 spaces reserved for persons with disabilities and 2 spaces equipped for electric vehicle charging. Please be reminded that parking is free for local residents.
Starting from 01.08.2025, changes will be made to the tariffs of Magti’s optical fiber internet services.
The change will only affect users who are subscribed to home fixed internet or internet + IPTV services and currently have an active 50 Mbps package.
Georgia increases foreign currency loan limit to GEL 750,000 from August 1
The National Bank of Georgia (NBG) has announced that, starting August 1, 2025, the cap on unhedged foreign currency loans will rise from GEL 500,000 to GEL 750,000. This change means citizens earning in GEL will no longer be able to access loans exceeding GEL 750,000 in any foreign currency.
As a reminder, starting from January 1, 2024, the NBG increased the limit on unhedged foreign currency loans from 200,000 GEL to 300,000 GEL. NBG increased the limit on unhedged foreign currency loans from 300,000 GEL to 400,000 GEL starting from May 1, 2024.
Direct flights between Tbilisi and Mumbai to be launched on August 2
IndiGo, an Indian airline, will be launching direct flights between Mumbai and Tbilisi starting August 2. This new route will operate three times a week and will be the second Indian city, after Delhi, to be directly connected to Georgia by air.
