Today, no specific investor has been identified that can be said to be engaged in the Khudoni HPP project. Today, the Ministry of Economy is directly working on this project, including in order to prepare proposals for investors, - Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze told journalists.
As the head of government noted, the Khudoni HPP is one of the most important strategic projects that will be implemented as quickly as possible.
“Today, no specific investor has been identified that can be said to be engaged in the Khudoni HPP project. Today, the Ministry of Economy is directly working on this project, including in order to prepare proposals for investors. This is the current situation. This is one of the most important strategic projects that will be implemented as quickly as possible. This is one of the tasks of the Ministry of Economy, on which the entire team of the Ministry of Economy is actively working, including, first of all, the team working in the energy sector,” the Prime Minister said.
When asked whether the Khudoni HPP will be built by the state or by an investor, the Prime Minister noted that this issue should be resolved on the basis of negotiations with potential investors.
“We do not rule out the state’s involvement in the implementation of this project, I mean the financial part,” Irakli Kobakhidze said.
