"Chain stores make such demands that we prefer to export our products," Vano Goglidze, founder of the canning company "Kula" states.
According to him, the problem must be solved through the joint involvement of business and the state.
"There is demand on the local market, but network stores make such demands that sometimes we have to refrain. We are represented in almost all chain markets, but we don’t supply our products to some of them. This problem needs to be solved through joint work of the state, producers and chain markets. I would rather export than beg someone take our products."
"Currently, demand on the local market has grown by about 10-12% compared to the same period of last year," says Vano Goglidze.
According to the company's founder, at this stage 70% of Kula's products are sold for export and the company keeps on working in this direction.
As a reminder, more than one company has approached Business Partner about high costs of delivering their products to chain markets, including Chirchkhela, Kartuli Tema and others.
Business representatives believe that it is necessary to set a certain threshold above which chain markets will not have the right to ask for interest.
"Kula" purchases 95% of raw materials from local farmers and peasants. The company exists on the market since 2009. Currently, Kula has 5 enterprises, of which 4 are located in Gori and 1 - in Akhaltsikhe.
The company exports its products to about 28 countries.
