The volume of loans issued by commercial banks (excluding interbank loans) in February 2026 increased by 654,63 milion GEL or by 0,93% compared to the previous month (exchange rate effect excluded, increased by 1,32%) and constituted 71,06 billion GEL by the end of February 2026. The YoY growth rate of loans, excluding exchange rate effect, was 14,20%. The volume of loans in national currency increased by 530,64 milion GEL (1,31%) and the volume of loans in foreign currency increased by 123,99 milion GEL or by 0,41% in the same period (exchange rate effect excluded, increased by 1,32%).
By the end of February 2026, the total volume of national currency denominated loans to resident legal entities issued by commercial banks amounted to 10,77 billion GEL (0,81% more compared to the previous month), and foreign currency denominated loans constituted 20,31 billion GEL (0,39% more; exchange rate effect excluded volume of lending in foreign currency increased by 1,27 %).
During February 2026, the volume of lending to resident household sector increased by 0,95% or 351,47 milion GEL, and constituted 37,17 billion GEL by the end of February 2026.
Larization ratio for total loans constituted 57,78% by the end of February 2026 and increased by 0,216 percentage point (exchange rate effect excluded, unchanged), compared to the end of January 2026.
