Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has presented an overview of the last two years of investment progress on Poland’s new national airport and the country’s emerging High-Speed Rail network. He expressed pride in the scale and pace of the works, stressing that both the construction and long-term management of this strategic infrastructure should remain in the hands of Polish companies. He also announced that the entire programme will now operate under a new name: Port Poland and will be carried out by the state-owned company Centralny Port Komunikacyjny.
An investment agreement with Polish Airports (PPL), 19 applications for building permits, tenders for terminal foundations and airport passenger boarding bridges, and an ongoing competitive dialogue for the passenger terminal contractor, these are just some of the activities presented by Prime Minister Donald Tusk in connection with the implementation of the Port Poland investment.
Upcoming plans include, among others, procurement procedures for the first section of the High-Speed Rail line between Warsaw and Łódź, as well as for roads in the vicinity of the airport. At the same time, the Prime Minister announced that the CPK Programme is being renamed Port Poland, which encompasses a state-of-the-art transport system consisting of an international airport, a High-Speed Rail network, roads surrounding the airport, a global logistics centre and Airport City.
During a press conference at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, Donald Tusk emphasised that December 2025 alone saw many important steps taken towards the construction of the new airport and rail lines.
A tender procedure has been launched to select a contractor for the airport’s passenger boarding bridges. A competitive dialogue has also begun for the selection of the passenger terminal contractor. Five consortia are participating, comprising a total of 16 companies, as many as 14 of which are entities with Polish capital. Later in December, a procurement procedure will be announced for the construction of the first section of the High-Speed Rail line on the Warsaw–Łódź route, with a value exceeding PLN 3 billion.
