In Q1 2026 the nominal Gross Domestic Product (GDP) amounted to GEL 24 774.6 million. The real GDP increased by 9.0 percent YoY, while the GDP deflator percentage change equaled to 2.3 percent.
Significant contributions to the real GDP growth in Q1 2026 are related to increase of valueadded of the following activities: Information and communication (36.0 percent), Transportation and storage (18.0 percent), Wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (5.5 percent), Financial and insurance activities (11.7 percent), Arts, entertainment and recreation (14.5 percent).
The largest negative contributors to growth in Q1 2026 were Agriculture, forestry and fishing (-3.3 percent) and Construction (-2.0 percent).
The largest share in GDP by activity is held by Wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (13.2 percent) and Information and communication (10.4 percent), followed by Real estate activities (10.0 percent), Manufacturing (8.2 percent), Public administration and defence; compulsory social security (7.2 percent), Education (6.5 percent), Construction (6.4 percent), Transportation and storage (6.1 percent) and Financial and insurance activities (5.9 percent).
