The Trump Organization has partnered with UK-based developer Dar Global to open the first Trump-branded property in the Maldives.
The Trump International Hotel Maldives is planned to open by late 2028 and will be located approximately 25 minutes by speedboat from Malé.
The resort is expected to include around 80 beach and overwater villas.
This initiative forms part of ongoing efforts by both entities to expand their presence in key global destinations and explore new investment methods.
The Trump Organization executive vice-president Eric Trump said: “We are delighted to bring the Trump brand to the Maldives in collaboration with Dar Global. This development will not only redefine luxury in the region but also set a new benchmark for innovation in real estate investment through tokenisation.”
The partners also revealed the launch of a tokenised hotel development associated with the project.
The collaboration marks the introduction of a financial model that allows for investment through tokens in the development stage of a hospitality project.
This differs from earlier methods where tokens were used for completed assets, said Dar Global.
Investors will be able to participate in the Maldives project’s development phase through tokenisation.
The Trump Organization owns, operates, and develops hotels, resorts, residential properties, and golf courses in multiple countries.
