Ministers were very clear on the rule of law and human rights situation that continues to deteriorate in Georgia, Kaja Kallas, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, said at the press conference following the EU Foreign Affairs Council in Luxembourg.
Kallas also said that attacks on European ambassadors are unacceptable.
“Ministers were very clear on the rule of law and human rights situation that continues to deteriorate in Georgia. Personal attacks against European ambassadors are unacceptable and have no place in diplomacy.
The Commission will present its visa suspension mechanism report later this year with the new regulation on visas entering into force in November. This will give us the opportunity to cancel visa free regime for some groups,” Kallas said.
According to her, she will meet with ministers from the Black Sea region and Central Asian countries today.
"Russia's hybrid attacks affect us all. We need collective efforts to improve security in the Black Sea," Kallas noted.
