Gostita Todradze, Executive Director of Sakstat, says that salaries in the public sector are below those in the private sector.

If we conduct a sectoral analysis, we find that wages in the public sector are somewhat lower than those in the private sector. Examining the parameters of economic growth, we see that in recent years there has been a significant rise in the information and communications sector, as well as in finance and professional, scientific, and technical fields. These sectors boast the highest average wages. While wages in education, healthcare, and agriculture are the lowest, notes Gogita Todradze.

As of the second quarter of 2025, the average wage in the country stands at GEL 2,212.
