The import of soft toys into Georgia has seen a significant decline. According to official data, in January-September, the country spent $98,000 on 86 tons of toys compared to 118 tons of soft toys for $201,000 in the same period of last year. That means a 51.2% drop in imports and a 27.1% decrease in volume.
This year, the United Kingdom was the main importer from which Georgia acquired 51 tons of toys valued at $59,000 in nine months. This market accounts for 60% of the total soft toy imports this year.
Georgia’s key import markets for soft toys in (January-September) are:
• Great Britain - $59,000, 51 tons;
• Belgium - $16,000, 17 tons;
• Italy - $10,000, 3 tons;
• Poland - $5,000, 13 tons;
• The Netherlands - $4,000, 80 kg.
