«Statistics of court disputes related to business activities are on the decline,» Shota Berekashvili, the chairman of the parliamentary committee on economic policy, states while assessing the report on the office of the business ombudsman's activities for 2024.

He notes that this indicates «a dynamic relationship between business and the state, characterized by transparency, which is crucial for sustaining economic growth.»

Note: at the meeting of the Economic Policy Committee, the Georgian Business Ombudsman Otar Danelia presented a report on the activities of the Office of the Business Ombudsman. He spoke on statistics for the reporting period.

According to Danelia, in 2024 the Office received about 200 letters and held 130 meetings. The main questions addressed were related to trade, agriculture, transport, logistics and industry.

In his words, most of the lawsuits were filed against the Ministry of Finance. Also, lawsuits were filed against the Government of Georgia and Tbilisi City Hall.

As for the statistics of lawsuits by regions, Tbilisi accounts for more than 70% of the total number, Adjara - about 10%. The least active in this regard are Guria, Kvemo Kartli and Samtskhe-Javakheti», - Otar Danelia notes.
