With the support of the National Wine Agency, 26 Georgian wine producers participated in the “OrangeWineFestival” of amber wines, held in Vienna, the capital of Austria.
The “OrangeWineFestival” has been held since 2012 and takes place annually in Austria, Italy, and Slovenia.
Georgia’s participation in the festival provides an opportunity for Georgian wine to be widely showcased to both consumers and international wine experts, as well as professionals in the wine trade, which is a prerequisite for diversifying Georgian wine markets and increasing its export potential.
This year, the festival featured 350 wines from 90 producers from 12 countries worldwide.
The festival held in Vienna was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Republic of Austria Aleksandre Maisuradze, Consul Tamta Kintsurashvili, and other representatives of the embassy. Georgian winemakers also received support from the Embassy of Georgia in the Republic of Austria to present their wines at the festival.
In the current autumn, for the purpose of promoting amber wine, Georgian wineries, with the support of the National Wine Agency, also participated in the international exhibition of amber wines “OrangeGlouFair” in New York and in the first Georgian amber wine festival “AmberGeorgia.”
It is noteworthy that one of the main directions of the National Wine Agency’s activities is the promotion and raising awareness of Georgian wine in international markets. As part of its efforts to promote Georgian wine, the agency has been intensively conducting advertising and marketing campaigns in the USA, Europe, and Southeast Asian countries since 2013, aiming at market diversification.
To increase the export potential of Georgian wine and diversify its markets, with the financial and organizational support of the National Wine Agency, in the first ten months of 2025, Georgian wine was presented at 29 exhibition-festivals and nearly 250 tasting seminars in approximately 20 countries across the USA, Europe, and Asia.
