Another hotel started operating in the Kakheti region. The 5-star hotel "Bodbe" has opened and is ready to receive vacationers. The hotel aroused great interest because of its premium class and offers its guests beautiful views. "Commersant" was interested in how much a hotel room costs for a night. We got in touch with the hotel's receptionist and  made a reservation for 2 people for the weekend. In a standard room, a one-night stay for 2 people costs about GEL 595.

The price includes breakfast, the indoor pool, spa treatment and, if desired, a therapist. Standard rooms offer views of the Alazani and Bodbe gorges. One night for two in a high-class room with the same services costs 680 GEL. As we were told in the hotel's marketing department, prices are variable and several factors need to consider in setting a price.

CEO at Bodbe explains that market demand determins the price. According to Nino Shermazanashvili, they plan to keep on working in  the average and above average price segment.

"The price depends on the room category, day of the week and number of guests. The room price includes breakfast, spa (indoor pools, dry Finnish sauna, scrub and steam room, individual shower), gym and children's room," says Nino Shermazanashvili.

The project was carried out by the Georgian Tourism Development Fund. The minimum investment amount was set at $22 million, but the total investment cost of the project made $56 million.

The hotel opened almost a year and a half late. Giorgi Baidarashvili names the Covid pandemic as the reason for the project's delay. According to him, during the pandemic, the supply of building materials was delayed, logistical problems arose and all this  hindered the hotel construction.

The hotel includes 132 rooms, indoor and outdoor pools, spa and fitness center, 10 bars and 3 restaurants of different concepts, a large conference hall, children's entertainment areas and many other interesting services.

The director of the Georgian Tourism Development Fund talks about the features that make "Bodbe" unique.

"The design typical for the local culture, the local landscape. Wood is used extensively in the hotel’s finishes.

The rooms are very good and  offer a panoramic view. It looks out over the entire Alazani Valley. From the approaches to Telavi, to Lagodekhi and Dedoplistskaro, everything is in full view. The range of services is very wide," Giorgi Baidarashvili notes.

With the opening of the new hotel, competition in Kakheti will increase. Nino Shermazanashvili, Bodbe CEO spoke about the hotel’s advantages in an interview with Commersant.

"The hotel is a new destination in Bodbe and has many advantages. One is proximity to the city. The newly opened road reduces the travel time. A new destination increases competition that has a positive impact on the market, quality,

Bodbe hotel will increase the competition in middle and high-class hotels in the Kakheti region," Nino Shermazanashvili points out.

Giorgi Baidarashvili, director of the Georgian Tourism Development Fund, finds it difficult to say when the hotel will return its investment. According to him, the Fund’s main goal is to promote the use of the country’s tourism potential.
