«Commersant» talked with businessman Temur Chkonia about a possible suspension of visa liberalization. According to him, the government puts the population before a choice: either peace and economic development or visa liberalization. According to the businessman, this approach is offensive. Temur Chkonia believes that the population should categorically demand from the government not to impose such a choice and ensure all three points: peace, development and visa-free regime in the country.

"If we choose between war, prosperity, and visa liberalization, according to the current government, we will choose these two.The clear demand of our citizens must be that political leaders do not put us in front of a choice. All three are essential to us. Our demand must be that we do not give the government a choice. We want and need all three. Our demand must be that we do not let the government put us in front of a choice. We need all three: visa liberalization, peace and economic development. This requirement needs to be fulfilled. That should be the task of our political leaders. They must do all three. It is a commitment to the country, to its voters, to its image, to our development. I want people to be happy and proud. It hinders our happiness and pride. This reasoning is not correct. When we walk free, and this freedom can be based on some stupid statements - exchanging the world for LGBT ideology - what is it? What century is it? What are you talking about? It’s demeaning. I’m not responsible for all the business people, but it’s demeaning to business. Pride is being devalued by it. When they discuss these topics without any criticism, they assert that we are prohibited from entering countries, compete with them, and slander them. It’s an affront to knowledge, political education, self-esteem and all of that together. It’s not a national approach. This is an outdated approach", - says the businessman.

In Temur Chkonia's view, removing the visa regime is a matter of self-respect. The businessman clarifies that keeping the visa regime in Georgia does not imply propagandizing the ideology of sexual minorities. According to him, such a question is incorrect and untrue. According to him, such a question is incorrect and untrue.

There is also a question of self-respect. You have visa liberalization, and they take it away. What could be worse, selfless than this? Imagine there is a country where you are not allowed. What’s more selfless than that? What choice? They are obliged to fulfill all three. If there is no duty of patriotism, there is a professional duty. They say that we are exposed to LGBT propaganda. Perhaps someone will impose rules that you do not like. This is a subject for propaganda. It is false ideology,' says Temur Chkonia.
