US President Donald Trump has set the stage for a possible peace deal with Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin, but “there will be concessions” that “nobody will be happy about,” US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said in an interview with Fox News, saying President Trump has already changed the rules of the game.

"He created the conditions for a possible peaceful solution, which was his goal from the beginning, on a very difficult battlefield. I don't think Vladimir Putin would have agreed to the meeting if he hadn't felt pressured..." Hegseth said.

"There may be territorial swaps in the negotiations. There will be concessions. No one will be happy. But if anyone can do it, it's President Trump," he added.
