A massive overnight drone attack struck Novorossiysk in Russia's Krasnodar Krai on August 12, reportedly hitting a grain elevator at the local port, according to local monitoring channels.
NASA’s FIRMS satellite tracking system detected a fire at the port following the strike.
Local residents reported a strong smell of smoke and burning across central Novorossiysk, though the exact source of the fire remains undetermined.
Novorossiysk Mayor Andrei Kravchenko reported a combined assault by aerial drones and unmanned surface vessels, stating that “falling drone debris” damaged six residential buildings, a commercial facility, and a construction site.
