In January-August 2026 the external merchandise trade (excluding non-declared trade) of Georgia amounted to USD 17 926.9 million, 8.4 percent higher year-on-year. The exports equaled 5 422.5 million (22.1 percent higher), while the imports stood at USD 12 504.4 million (3.4 percent higher). The negative trade balance was USD 7 081.8 million in January-August 2026 and its share in external trade turnover constituted 39.5 percent.
In January-August 2026 the share of the top ten trading partners by exports in the total exports of Georgia amounted to 68.8 percent. The top partners were Kyrgyzstan (USD 577.6 million), China (USD 543.7 million) and Russia (USD 500.7 million).
In January-August 2026 the share of the top ten trading partners by imports in the total imports of Georgia amounted to 70.2 percent. The top partners were Türkiye (USD 1 918.6 million), Russia (USD 1 531.8 million) and USA (USD 1 510.5 million).
