Foreign direct investments (FDI) in Georgia amounted to USD 468.8 million in Q2 2026 (preliminary data), which is down 23.2 percent from the adjusted data of Q2 2025. Decreasing in reinvestment is the main reason for the reduction of FDI.

In Q2 2026, equity amounted to USD 210.5 million which is 44.9 percent of the total foreign direct investment (FDI). Reinvestment reached USD 300.5 million and held the largest share, at 64.1 percent.

China reaching USD 219.5 million in Q2 2026 (46.8 percent) was the major foreign direct investor country. The United Kingdom was the second with USD 123.5 million (26.3 percent), followed by the United Arab Emirates with USD 47.7 million (10.2 percent). The share of the three largest investor countries is 83.3 percent of the total investment.

The largest share of FDI was registered in the financial and insurance activities sector, reaching USD 207.6 million (44.3 percent) in Q2 2026. Real estate activities sector was second with USD 119.9 million (25.6 percent), followed by the manufacturing sector with USD 59.0 million (12.6 percent). The share of the three largest sectors in total foreign direct investment amounted to 82.4 percent.
