Bitcoin rose above $85,000 on Monday as the cryptocurrency continued its sharp rally over the past few days.

Bitcoin was trading at $84,256 at around 06:35 a.m. ET, up around 3.8%, according to CoinMetrics. Earlier in the day, the cryptocurrency rose as high as $85,229, its highest level since late January.

Investors are assessing whether the “crypto winter” — a depressed period of digital asset prices — which began after bitcoin hit an all-time high of over $126,000 in October 2025, is over.

Analysts at BTIG said in a note on Sunday that, as long as the $75,000 level of bitcoin holds, “bulls can target a push through 82k on the way to” $90,000.
