Amid ongoing efforts to strengthen border security and uphold immigration laws, the Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia has deported 22 foreign nationals.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), individuals from Iraq, Russia, Iran, India, Turkiye, Bulgaria, Cameroon, Jordan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, and Kenya were among those expelled. In total, 22 foreign citizens were deported from Georgian territory.
“Under current legislation, those deported have been subsequently barred from re-entering the country. The Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia is tasked with combating illegal migration within the country’s borders. One of its primary responsibilities is to identify foreign nationals residing in Georgia without legal authorisation and to facilitate their expulsion,” the Ministry stated.
