Imports of live reptiles (including snakes and turtles) into Georgia have reached a record level.
Sakstat data shows that in 2025 Georgia imported 1.2 tons of live reptiles, valued at $62.8 thousand. The average import price for1kg of reptiles stoodat $52.
As of 2024, 1 ton of reptiles was imported into the country, with the total import amount reaching $46.2 thousand.
According to Sakstat, over 90% of all reptile imports come from China.
In 2025, reptiles were also imported from Hungary and Ukraine.
