It is important for us to restore strategic partnership with the United States from a clean slate, and we want to restore the strategic partnership with a specific roadmap and specific objectives, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze told Georgian journalists in Milan.
As the head of government noted, Georgia will very soon have an officially appointed ambassador to the United States.
"There was indeed speculation regarding Georgian-American relations, and in this regard, it is also important that Georgia received consent regarding the appointment of an ambassador, and Georgia will very soon have an officially appointed ambassador. The nomination has already been sent to the President, and Tamar Taliashvili, who is an exceptionally worthy candidate for this post, will be appointed to the position of ambassador. As for the task, the task is absolutely clear - we were talking about how the development of Georgian-American relations affects us. First of all, we are talking about the importance of renewing the strategic partnership, and moreover, we openly declare that it is important for us to restore the strategic partnership from a clean slate. We want the strategic partnership to be restored with specific guidelines and specific tasks. This is also the ambassador's task to convince the new administration of the United States of all this. We very much hope that in the conditions of convergence of values, these relations will be reset and the strategic partnership will be restored. We must emphasize once again that the struggle continues between the new administration and the "deep state" and we have great hope that the new administration will be fully successful in this struggle," Irakli Kobakhidze said.
