A sports complex has been completed in Tabakhmela.
The complex covers an area of 5000 sq. m, football and basketball courts have been built that meet international standards. There are also 500-seat stands, lighting, a scoreboard and a car park, two padel courts are being built.
The mayor of the capital, Kakha Kaladze, together with the chairman of the city council, Zurab Abashidze, and the mayoral deputies, Andria Basilaia and Irakli Bendiashvili, familiarised with the progress of the works.
The sports complex also has an administrative building with 45 rooms, including four bedrooms, wet areas, a dining room, a changing room, a referee's room and a medical room. The site is fully accessible for people with disabilities.
Construction of the complex began in 2023, with 4.5 million lari being allocated from the Mtatsminda district administration budget. Football schools will be able to use the infrastructure.
The first vice-president of the Georgian Football Federation, Kakha Chumburidze, and veteran athletes, accompanied by the mayor of the capital and the governor of the Mtatsminda district, David Kirkitadze, familiarised themselves with the completed work.
