In April 2023, Georgian commercial banks appropriated property in the amount of GEL 327 million as payment for overdue loans - the Financial Sector Review published by the National Bank reads.
According to the review, the value of property appropriated by banks increased annually by GEL 12.4 million.
At the same time, according to the NBG, in April the amount of loans written off amounted to GEL 30.9 million against GEL 51.1million in the same period of 2022.
In May the amount of loans written off amounted to GEL 5.6 million against GEL 7.3 million in the same period of 2022.
