California cities of Davis and San Francisco hosted the 8th Georgian Wine Forum, organized by the National Wine Agency of Georgia and the Embassy of Georgia in San Francisco, with the support of the Georgian-American Business Council.

Within the framework of the forum, a scientific seminar was held at the Robert Mondavi Institute in the city of Davis, with the participation of scientists, economists and wine professionals. Within the framework of the conference, the participants discussed the strategy for establishing Georgian wine in the US market, the marketing potential of Georgian wine in the US market and the current state of the Georgian wine industry.

At the same time, a conference and tasting of Georgian wine culture, its history, varietal diversity, unique winemaking methods, Georgian wine economy and marketing was held in the city of San Francisco.

The event was attended by Tamta Kvelaidze, Head of the Marketing and Public Relations Department of the National Wine Agency, who assessed that such activities are crucial for establishing Georgian wine in the American market.

“Georgian wine has great potential in the US market; last year, Georgia recorded a historic maximum of wine export to the United States, 1.2 million liters. Georgian wine is represented at all major exhibitions in the United States. With our support, Georgian wine tastings are being held, we organize visits of American wine professionals to Georgia to get acquainted with Georgian wine and its culture," Tamta Kvelaidze said.

It is worth noting that the "Georgian Wine Forum" traditionally includes a scientific conference, during which researchers from various countries around the world present and discuss scientific studies related to the culture and history of the Georgian vine.

The United States is a strategic market for Georgian wine, where, in order to promote Georgian wine and increase exports, various important events, including the "Georgian Wine Forum", are held with the support of the National Wine Agency. Targeted marketing activities implemented with the support of the National Wine Agency since 2013 have significantly contributed to the increase of awareness and export of Georgian wine in the USA.
