The ‘Plant the Future’ programme financed the creation of new peach and plum orchards spanning over 300 hectares across Georgia. Investments totalled over GEL 4.3 million, including GEL 1.7 million in co-financing from the Rural Development Agency.

The Ministry of Environment and Agriculture claims that support for horticulture development, as well as the establishment of cold storage and processing facilities, has boosted production, with a proportionate impact on household incomes.
