In 2024 the external merchandise trade (excluding non-declared trade) of Georgia amounted to USD 23 435.3 million, 8.0 percent higher year-on-year. The exports equaled 6 560.4 million (7.8 percent higher), while the imports stood at USD 16 874.9 million (8.1 percent higher). The negative trade balance was USD 10 314.5 million in 2024 and its share in external trade turnover constituted 44.0 percent.

In 2024 the share of the top ten trading partners by exports in the total exports of Georgia amounted to 81.5 percent. The top partners were Kyrgyzstan (USD 1 287.4 million), Kazakhstan (USD 859.9 million) and Azerbaijan (USD 724.5 million).

In 2024 the share of the top ten trading partners by imports in the total imports of Georgia amounted to 69.9 percent. The top partners were Türkiye (USD 2 770.1 million), USA (USD 2 047.3 million) and Russia (USD 1 849.8 million).

In 2024 the share of the top ten trading partners in the total external trade turnover of Georgia amounted to 68.9 percent. The top trading partners were Türkiye (USD 3 228.4 million), Russia (USD 2 531.3 million) and USA (USD 2 188.3 million).

In 2024 motor cars claimed the first place in the list of top export items, equaling USD 2 426.8 million with 37.0 percent of total exports. The exports of ferro-alloys totaled USD 322.2 million and their share in the total exports amounted to 4.9 percent. The exports of spirituous beverages occupied the third place standing at USD 288.6 million and constituting 4.4 percent of the total exports.

The top import commodities in 2024 were motor cars, whose imports equaled USD 3 464.5 million (20.5 percent of the total imports). The petroleum and petroleum oils followed in the list with USD 1 303.0 million (7.7 percent of imports). The Medicaments put up in measured doses were third in the top import commodity list with USD 622.9 million (3.7 percent of imports).
