Georgia imported 71,866 tonnes of oil and petroleum products worth $69.8 million from Azerbaijan during the January-June period of this year, according to calculations based on data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia.
Compared with the same period in 2025, the value of imports increased threefold, while the volume doubled.
As a result, Azerbaijan ranked fourth among Georgia's suppliers of oil and petroleum products during the first six months of 2026.
Overall, Georgia imported 904,212 tonnes of oil and petroleum products worth $811.8 million from foreign countries during the reporting period, up 12% in volume and 34% in value compared with a year earlier.
Russia remained Georgia's largest supplier, exporting 365,800 tonnes worth $270 million. It was followed by Türkiye with 87,000 tonnes valued at $106.8 million, Romania with 115,200 tonnes worth $105.95 million, Belarus with 51,700 tonnes worth $50.9 million, and Azerbaijan.
In 2025, Georgia imported 1.8 million tonnes of oil and petroleum products worth $1.4 billion, including 172,000 tonnes from Azerbaijan valued at $118 million.
