Today we are talking about the heroes of Shindisi, their heroism, and all this was a new event, when representatives of the cultural sphere were not refusing to visit Russia, to hold concerts there, and when the Russian occupation of Ukraine took place, only after that they started speaking with anti-Russian statements, only then they stopped traveling to Russia, - Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated.
As he explains, "the double standard indicates that specific people are foreign agents."
"There are people in Georgia, including politicians, NGO workers, party activists, including so-called cultural figures, who act from beginning to end on external orders. Specifically, the same thing can be seen on the example of these cultural figures. Today we are talking about the heroes of Shindisi, their heroism, and all this was a new thing, when representatives of the cultural sphere were not refusing to go to Russia, to hold concerts there, and only after the Russian occupation of Ukraine, they started speaking with anti-Russian statements, only then they stopped traveling to Russia. All this indicates one thing: there is a certain caste of people who act not according to their own views, their own feelings, but according to what is ordered to them from the outside. Unfortunately, this also applies to representatives of the cultural sphere.
They have nothing to say, neither Saakashvili, nor any representative of the National Movement, because the fact is stubborn and it's very simple - there were people who, in 2008-2012 and thereafter, welcomed everything Russian, including tourists from Russia, money from Russia, etc. Now the same people are making different statements, this double standard indicates that in essence, these people are foreign agents and they act not according to what is happening in this country, but according to what they are told from the outside,” Kobakhidze said.
As he explained, the so-called politicians and representatives of the cultural sphere are worried that their double standards are absolutely clear.
“I also saw his [Nikoloz Rachveli] comment on social media. I don’t want to say anything, he is a representative of the cultural sphere, but this is a feeble attempt to somehow justify their double standard. You cannot become Russophobic after 2022 when you were not Russophobic in 2009-2010. There is no explanation for this, this is a simple statement of facts to which there is no answer, and because they do not have an answer, both the so-called politicians and representatives of the cultural sphere are making rude, offensive statements. They are worried that their double standards are absolutely clear, which they cannot explain in any way, which they cannot justify in any way, so they have to make harsh statements, which is a tragic event," said Irakli Kobakhidze.
