Concerning  the Anaklia Port project, we reviewed the agreement together with the supervisory company and as a result, the cost of the project was reduced by more than 25%. Specifically, it was reduced by 52.5 million dollars - the construction process in Anaklia will be actively resumed in the coming days, - Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said at today's government session.

As the Prime Minister noted, "serious optimization has been carried out" in various directions regarding the Anaklia Port.

I will touch on the topic of Anaklia infrastructure. As you know, over the past few months, a serious optimization of state spending within the framework of existing agreements has been carried out in various directions. Along with other agreements, we also reviewed the agreement related to the deepening of the Anaklia deep-sea port and the construction of a breakwater, the original cost of which was 203.9 billion dollars. We also reviewed the agreement with the supervisory company, as a result, the cost of the project was reduced by more than 25%. Specifically, the cost of the project was reduced by 52.5 million dollars and as a result, in the coming days the construction process in Anaklia will be actively resumed with much reduced costs. In general, it should be noted that the Georgian government takes responsibility for all infrastructure projects to be implemented as cost-effectively as possible, with minimal budgetary expenditures. I would like to thank the Minister of Economy and his team, who saved 52 and a half million dollars in the state budget in this particular case," Kobakhidze said.
