"In milk and meat production, our industry is over 50% dependent on imports, and can’t carry out any exports," the founder of "Kvareli Baga" says.

He believes that local milk and meat production simply doesn't have the resources to export, not only now but in the next few years.

"There are no resources, and the meat and dairy sector will not be able to export products for decades, especially to the Chinese market," note

Note: amendments have been made to the free trade agreement signed between China and Georgia. Within the framework of this same agreement, work is underway to ensure access for Georgian livestock products to the Chinese market, including progress made in resolving the issue of permits for the sale of poultry meat and Georgian honey on the Chinese market.

Efforts are being made to open up the Chinese market for Georgian livestock products, specifically regarding the approval for importing Georgian poultry and honey.
