Turkey and Armenia are renewing direct trade relations as part of a long-running process to normalize bilateral ties that has been ongoing since 2022.
In a statement from the Turkish Foreign Ministry, released on the social network X, it is noted that at this stage and during confidence-building measures, the bureaucratic preparations for launching direct trade between our country and Armenia have been completed as of May 11, 2026.
It is noted that the technical and bureaucratic work required to open a joint border between the two countries is still ongoing.
Under the new regulations, goods shipped from Turkey to Armenia via third countries or in the reverse direction can now officially be labeled as having the final destination or origin “Armenia/Turkey”.
