US President Donald Trump believes the end of the Russo-Ukrainian war "is getting very close".

Asked about the prospects for ending the Russo-Ukrainian war, Trump said he believes a resolution is approaching.

"The end of the war in Ukraine, I really think it's getting ‌very close," he said.

"Believe it or not, it's getting closer, and we think we're going to end up getting a settlement between Russia and Ukraine," Trump added, once again repeating his claim that he had "settled eight wars".

He was also asked whether there was an "understanding" between him and Russian leader Vladimir Putin that Russia should receive all of Donbas under a future peace agreement. Trump replied briefly: "No."
