Fish imports from Armenia to Russia will be banned starting from June 2, APA's Moscow bureau reports.

According to Russia's Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor), most local companies involved in exporting fish to Russia either failed inspections or refused to undergo them. As a result, their certification has been suspended until the identified violations are eliminated.

It should be noted that Russia had previously banned the import and sale of fruits and vegetables, flowers, several types of cognac and wine, as well as "Jermuk" mineral water from Armenia.
