Three Missouri-based General Mills manufacturing plants are closing, according to a company filing on Wednesday.
General Mills, which announced its acquisition of Whitebridge Pet Brands in Dec. 2024, said Sept. 25, 2025, it approved a “multiyear organizational initiative to increase the competitiveness of our [its] supply chain.”
The company stated that its goal is to improve cost structures and consolidate capacity.
Two of the Whitebridge facilities in Joplin are set to close, along with a North American foodservice facility in St. Charles that manufactures pizza crusts.
General Mills says it expects about $82 million in restructuring costs, including $17 million in cash. The company also projects $43 million in asset write-offs and $6 million in other costs, such as severance, in the second fiscal quarter of 2026.
The company expects the current plans to be finalized by the end of fiscal year 2029.
