“For the first time, a train carrying goods to China departed from the terminal in Warsaw... These are products from Europe, including Poland, Germany, the Czech Republic, Lithuania, and Latvia. Among them are custom-made furniture, playground accessories, ski accessories, and footwear,” the state-owned Polish logistics operator PKP Cargo Connect said in a statement released on Monday.

The operator said that any goods fitting into containers and that do not violate sanctions regulations can be transported on the trains.

It added that this is the first pilot train, but the operator plans to organize two more trips in the coming weeks. If successful and there is sufficient demand, further shipments on this route are planned.

This train’s trip marks a new chapter in PKP Cargo Connect’s partnership with Chinese companies.
