The Wine Palate, an American online weekly publication of in-depth winery stories and expert reviews, published an article about West Georgia wines. The Wine Palate features a database of expertly rated wines from around the world, along with regularly updated reviews.
The author of the article, Lisa Perrotti-Brown, is a wine critic and Master of Wine based in Napa, California. She has been in the wine industry for 25 years and visited West Georgia in October within the framework of cooperation of the Georgian National Wine Agency and Big Sky Ranch Inc.
“Imereti and Racha, located on the west side of Georgia, are two remote, mountainous regions influenced by the Black Sea. They are home to a new generation of producers – small, family-owned wineries redefining the character of the country’s wines. A recent trip across Georgia’s rugged west revealed remarkably diverse styles compared to the east, embracing a quiet revolution in freshness and elegance,” she wrote.
The United States is one of the strategic export markets for Georgian wine. With the support of the National Wine Agency, targeted marketing activities implemented since 2013 have significantly contributed to the growth of awareness and exports of Georgian wine in the US.
