Although Georgian product exports are growing annually, a fact confirmed by statistics, significant work remains to be done to improve both product quality and production volumes.

International markets are experiencing high demand that Georgian producers are currently unable to satisfy.

Giorgi Khanishvili, managing partner of Agro 1959, stated on radio Commersant that the growth in exports shows that Georgian products are meeting certain quality standards, but he also points out that much more needs to be done in this regard.

"Georgian products demonstrate competitiveness in international markets,as evidenced by statistics that are growing year by year. For example, in the first 10 months of this year, Georgia exported agricultural products worth $1.5 billion"-Giorgi Khanishvili stresses.

According to Giorgi Khanishvili, the most work needs to be done to improve the citrus quality as 5-10 thousand tons of substandard harvest are produced annually.
