The 2028 parliamentary elections will be conducted under the current legislation, and this is a guarantee to everyone, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said in response to the “Opposition Alliance’s” six key demands for holding “fair and free elections.”
According to the Prime Minister, the current legislation is fully in line with international standards.
“Regarding the 2028 parliamentary elections, these elections will be held under the current legislation — I guarantee it to everyone!

We will hold the 2028 parliamentary elections on October 28 under the current legislation,” said Irakli Kobakhidze.
For context, the “Opposition Alliance” has outlined six key conditions they say are necessary for fair and free elections, including changes to the electoral administration, voting rights for emigrants, stricter voter verification, involvement of an international audit company, opening voter lists, and establishing special judicial panels for electoral disputes.
