“In terms of revenue, 2025 was a record-breaking year for tourism. Income from tourism reached 4.7 billion US dollars last year. In 2025, we hosted 7.8 million international travellers, of which 5,522,000 were tourist visits, marking an 8.4% growth in this segment.
Despite the conflict in the Middle East, which naturally impacted tourist flows, tourism revenues nevertheless increased by 0.5% in the first quarter of 2026. During the same quarter, compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, Georgian airports served 4.3% more passengers, with the number of travellers exceeding 1,600,000 across 7,800 completed flights.
During this period, 20 new hotels opened, adding approximately 1,000 hotel rooms to the sector. As of today, 2,691 hotels are operating in Georgia with a total capacity of 53,000 rooms. Highly significant marketing activities are currently being carried out by the Ministry of Economy across our strategic target markets,” the Prime Minister stated.
